Covidien, a leading global provider of healthcare products, recently announced a global alliance between its Mallinckrodt Baker performance chemicals business and the Sotax Group to promote J.T.Baker DILUT-IT dissolution media concentrates with Sotax dissolution test apparatus as a one-stop solution to help increase lab productivity.
Mallinckrodt Baker is a worldwide leader in manufacturing high-purity chemicals, while Sotax is a worldwide leader in developing pharmaceutical testing systems.
Under the alliance, Sotax will recommend Mallinckrodt Baker’s J.T.Baker DILUT-IT dissolution media concentrates for use with its dissolution testing equipment and dissolution media preparation stations. Customers with Sotax systems will also be able to request J.T.Baker DILUT-IT dissolution media concentrates directly from Sotax under a specialty distribution agreement. The alliance is intended to help laboratories that use
Sotax pharmaceutical dissolution testing systems further improve productivity and streamline regulatory compliance. J.T.Baker DILUT-IT dissolution media concentrates only require the addition of purified water with no need to weigh and mix chemicals. This can reduce the time needed to prepare dissolution media by up to 75%. By eliminating weighing and mixing variables, J.T.Baker DILUT-IT dissolution media concentrates greatly increase reproducibility and help to reduce operator error, rework, and waste. Eliminating the weighing and mixing variables also saves time in regulatory documentation.
Manufactured in a controlled, ISO-certified environment in accordance with USP guidelines, J.T.Baker DILUT-IT dissolution media concentrates are packaged to stringent fill tolerances to ensure lot-to-lot consistency.
“We chose to work with Mallinckrodt Baker not only because of their quality products, but also because they share our commitment to improving laboratory processes and productivity,” said Gilles Devidts, Head of Product Management, Sotax Group. “By using the J.T.Baker DILUT-IT dissolution media concentrates in conjunction with the Sotax AT 70smart automated system, the Zymark MultiDose G3 workstation, or the MPS Media Preparation System for manual and semi-automated dissolution baths, we are now able to provide our customers with a complete dissolution testing solution.”
“We’re pleased to work with a leading instrument company like Sotax,” said Russell Thorpe, Global Marketing Director for Laboratory Products at Mallinckrodt Baker. “The combination of their high-performance equipment with our specialty chemicals represents a perfect complement. Together we’re addressing a widespread challenge in the lab - how to save time and improve productivity without sacrificing accuracy or results.” |
