In addition to being a signatory as well as a successfully audited and re-certified Producer, CyPlus has become a signatory Consignor to the “International Cyanide Management Code for the Manufacture, Transport and Use of Cyanide in the Production of Gold” (ICMC).

The ICMC had been implemented in 2005 as a voluntary industry program to promote responsible management of cyanide, to enhance the protection of human health and to reduce the potential for environmental impacts.
The International Cyanide Management Institute (ICMI) recently announced revisions to the Code. All producers and transporters delivering cyanide to ICMC-certified mining operations are now not only required to become Code signatories and have their operations certified in compliance with the Code but there is also the possibility to act as a Consignor of cyanide shipments. The Consignor coordinates and oversees the transport of cyanide by contracted carriers and becomes a signatory Consignor. CyPlus has supported the review of the Code as it is in line with CyPlus’ commitment to be a reliable and experienced partner to the world’s mining industry.

CyPlus has become one of the first official signatories in the section “cyanide producers” to the ICMC in mid 2005. The production facility in Wesseling, Germany, was successfully audited and again re-certified in December 2009.
