MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Capsugel announced today that it has completed its acquisition of Bend Research Inc., a recognized industry leader in bioavailability enhancement. Bend Research is now part of Capsugel's Dosage Form Solutions (DFS) business. DFS integrates Capsugel’s proprietary technology platforms, formulation R&D centers and finished dosage manufacturing sites to deliver innovative solutions to customers. 

 

The acquisition announced earlier this month provides Capsugel DFS with best-in-class capability to help customers accelerate and improve development of pharmaceutical and nutritional products, especially in 

the areas of bioavailability enhancement and modified release. Bend Research brings expertise in novel 

formulations, including spray-dried dispersions and hot-melt extrusion, as well as technologies in the areas 

of controlled-release, inhalation, and bio-therapeutics. These capabilities complement Capsugel DFS’ premier capabilities in lipid and liquid formulations, modified and targeted release delivery, and specialized manufacturing solutions.
