On October 14, 2011, Shao Mingli, Commissioner of the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA), met with the U.S. Department of Commerce Biotechnology and Life Sciences Trade Mission to China led by Mr. Francisco J Sanchez, U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce. Both sides had an in-depth discussion on the development of biomedical industry, market access, management of orphan drugs and other issues. Main directors of SFDA’s Department of Drug Registration, Department of Medical Device Supervision, Department of International Cooperation, and relevant directors of Department of Drug Safety and Inspection attended the meeting.
