The 2011 Sino-U.S. Pharmaceutical Industry Summit, jointly organized by the China Pharmaceutical Industry Research and Development Association (SINO-PhIRDA) and the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), was held in Beijing on October 18-19, 2011. The theme of the Summit was “Intellectual Property Rights Protection & Pharmaceutical Industry Innovation and Development”. Sang Guowei, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Peoples Congress (NPC), attended the opening ceremony and gave a keynote speech. Bian Zhenjia, Deputy Commissioner of the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) was present at the opening ceremony and made a speech.
